Doing your own home electrical wiring can be rewarding, cost effective and deadly. If you are going to do your own home electrical wiring then you better get the permits you need and make sure the job is done properly. I have done a lot of basement plumbing jobs where the homeowner does there own home electrical wiring. For some reason they will tackle electrical wiring before plumbing. I always thought this was a little bizarre. Since doing your own home electrical wiring can cause you to burn down your house, while with plumbing you might get a leak and that is about all. Oh well, I should not complain since I did get a lot of work from homeowners.

When doing home electrical wiring you will want to read over the codes that are required for the job you are doing. Even if you do not cause a fire you will have to have your home electrical wiring done to code.

Also you can pick up books on how to do your own home electrical wiring. These books will teach you just about everything you will need to know. But you still need to have an idea of what the code is in your area.
