In this article I will explain what is required for search engine promotion, search engine optimization and seo. All three really mean the same so I am going to only use the term search engine promotion. 

This is when you learn the skills required to get your web site to the top of the search engines. I have read 100’s of pages on this topic and still only know the basics. Luckily the basics will in most cases get your site to the top page of the search engines or maybe to the second page. And with enough pages on the second page for each of your keyword terms you will make money. Of course by increasing this to somewhere on the first page of the search engines you will make a lot more money. So from my experience so far, these techniques will get you to the first page for less popular keyword phrases.

The first thing you need to do is make a list of all the keyword phrases that will help you rank. You can go to Overture to find out how to find the keywords for your industry. Then take those keywords and write articles about those keywords for search engine promotion. Did you read that? Yes, that is why I am using the keyword phrase search engine promotion. After writing at least 30 articles, make sure you rewrite some of those articles and submit them to the article directories, this will increase your search engine ranking by have a link from to your site, and the search engines will be able to find you.

The next step in successful search engine promotion is to increase the incoming number of links to your site. The more links coming in the more the search engines see you as a popular site and will rank you higher. If all you did was these two techniques you will increase your rankings by quite a bit.
