So You Want To Be An Edmonton Plumber?

By Kelly P Kramer

The best way to become an Edmonton Plumber is to go out and find an Edmonton Plumbing company that will hire you. Then you will work for that company for the next four years as an Edmonton Apprentice Plumber. Before you do this though I would recommend going to a small plumbing company and ask if you could tag along and help out in a few ways. Then you will get a strong point of view of what an Edmonton Plumber does.

When I first became an Edmonton Plumber I bought a how to do Plumbing book. But even after this I still had no idea of how large the plumbing field is. Here is a list of what you will learn as an apprentice:

Rough-in plumbing

Finish plumbing

Repair toilet, sinks, faucets, bathtubs, leaks, water heaters, boilers, controls.

Install barbques, water heaters, showers, toilets, sinks, laundry, dishwashers.

Commercial plumbing

Residential plumbing

Industrial Plumbing

And gas fitting for all those areas as well.

You will work for a company or an number of companies for four years. In those four years you will go to school for 8 weeks each year. Is this worth it?

YES, being an Edmonton Plumber is a rewarding career. You will make good money while learning, and afterwards you will make about $30 per hour. Then if you start your own company you can make $100K to unlimited amount of cash. But find out if it is what you want to do.
