Pick an area that you would like to market to and start to send out well written post cards. If you stick in one area you can get very busy and not have to drive much.

Starting a commercial cleaning business can be the most lucrative. With only a couple of clients you can make a very good living. But in most cases you will bill the client at the end of the month and get paid at the end of the following month. So you end up a month behind, but very much worth it once you get past the first month. To start this kind of cleaning business you will want to contact establishments such as offices.

Starting a new construction cleaning business. This type of cleaning business can again be residential or commercial. Not as lucrative as the service types of cleaning businesses, but if that is what you like then go for it. The easiest way to start this type of cleaning business is to cold call contractors and go and introduce yourself to them and then give them a low first time price. After they see what you can do and if they like you and you can promise them good service you are in. The only bad thing about this is if they slow down you slow down.

When starting a cleaning business of any style you will need to set up your company with the city you are in, and maybe get registered with the province or state as well, check with the local government in your area. Then you will need office supplies, phones, cars, tools of the trade, and business cards, and thank-you cards.
